This connector is a serial data interface to the logic module. When a diagnostic tool is attached to the connector, the logic module will recognize this and send fault codes to the diagnostic tool instead of the power loss lamp. The connector can also be used by the tool to monitor logic module inputs (sensors, switches, etc). It can also perform actuation test modes (ATM), where the tool instructs the logic module to cycle various circuits on and off (to test them out). The way these tests are performed entirely depends on the tool used.
